My hair loss looks very much as Androgenetic Alopecia female pattern focused more on front scalps Been diagnosed with Androgenetic Alopecia BUT since had biopsy and its come back as Alopecia Areata diffuse. I'm going back for another biopsy. But I don't understand I have had very slow and steady hair loss starting about 7 years ago. I do get a lot of shedding but me and my sister always had lot of shedding (my sisters hair is fine) My mother also had a slow steady hair loss. I figured I had her DHT genes. Add to this I was anemic and my dr is working to get my ferritin to 70 now to aid hair. I guess I'm just confused I'm 45 would Alopecia Areata start in late 30's?? Thought it presented in childhood.
