    Hi,

Im 23 years old and about five weeks ago, iv been having really bad headaches, head felt tight, itchy and sore. Didnt think anything of it, just took panadols until i had a shower and noticed a lot of hair coming out. I then got my mum to check my head and it was really sore. Then found a large bold spot on the back bottom left side of my head, where my hair had fallen out. I freaked out and ive been panicing since.

Now i am noticeing im still lossing a lot of hair and now have a smaller bold spot on the top of my head and around my forhead its thined out alot.

I have a specialist appointment on the 27th of july but in the mean time my doctor provided me to use steroid cream.

Im really scared and dont want to go bold

i have been stressed with work and personal things aswell. Im trying not to stress and relax getting physio and thinking of starting yoga as well.

Will my hair grow back and why is this happening

    Hi
Sorry to hear you are experience Alopecia Areata. The tinging tight scalp pain is quite common with Alopecia Areata. Progressing to AT /Alopecia Universalis is quite rare so try not to stress yourself any more, hard I know.:)

Alopecia Areata usually is triggered by stress, illness shock to name a few and has a genetic link.

Most people go into spontaneous recovery but treatments are available but there is no cure as such

Good luck at your appointment :)
