I'm just curious, does metformin really lower testosterone? They had started me on it last June, since then I've lost 40 pounds, but I can't tolerate the side effects from it anymore. It made me feel constantly ill and gave me horrible stomach cramps, even the XR version...
? th?nk no. Everyone says yes but my testesterone levels st?ll h?g?h. I am on 2000 mg and my doctor says she can change metform?n for ?nsul?n res?stance, because of 2000mg met doesnt enough for me. My ?ns. res. Is st?ll h?gh. I ve lost 23 pounds and fells t?red when ? us?ng ?t. It can be good for ha?r loss alternat?vly but we use th?s for ?nsul?n res?stance. I th?nk you shouldnt g?ve up but maybe your doctor can change the dosage.
I think possibly my metabolism has corrected itself, because I'm still losing weight though I quit taking the met around 3 weeks ago. I was just concerned that my testosterone would rise and if I had Androgenetic Alopecia it would progress quicker. However, I actually think its much lower than it was at one point because my skin has cleared up.
