Employment and Alopecia Areata

    Not for profit Bald Girls Do Lunch Inc, is developing an advocacy program regarding women with alopecia areata and the negative/problematic issues of the workplace. First, we're creating an important survey to assess and catalogue the issues being confronted in the workplace.

    Please help drive our focus. What questions and issues would you like to see covered?

    Submissions of actual situations or ideas for the survey can be posted here or emailed annonymously to info@baldgirlsdolunch.org.

    Examples:

    Are there actual or perceived loss of your legal rights?
    How did your employer/place of employ handle your transition from wearing wigs to working bald? or vice versa?
    Have you felt harrassed?
    same pay and same title, but moved to a back area of the office?
    outright discrimination? hostile work environment?
    issues surrounding the pre-employ interview
    Alopecia Areata as a disability issue in the workplace
    accommodations in the workplace for loss of hair, brows, lashes, nasal hair
    Do you know of any alopecia areata/ employment related legal cases?

    nice idea, i lucked out and have a very supportive work place, and have suffered no discrimination.
