Hi all so I've been using the regular name brand Rogaine and am thinking of switching to a generic. For those of you who have done the same, did you notice any changes? (Bad changes)

I tried it for the first time tonight and can tell it is a lot more oily... I'm not sure if that's bad or not...?

Any advice or tips you may have would be great.

    Thanks!

I used standard Rogaine for one month then switched to a 'special' formula from my doctor. I guess the new one is generic minoxidil but with added retinoic acid. It's only available through the specialist here.

I found Rogaine made my hair more greasy looking than the new one but otherwise no difference.

surely it's the active ingredient that's important? I can't imagine it makes too much difference except to your wallet.

will be interesting to see what others say......

I've heard good things about the Costco version. You can order it on their web site without being a club member. I think I remember reading that the Walmart version is more greasey. Target has its own version too.

I can't stand the generic kind. It drips all over the place and is very greasy. The only upside is that it smooths the hair a little which is nice when you have hair sticking everywhere. I'm taking this back and going back to the normal Rogaine, it is way easier to use and does not drip and doesn't leave my hair feeling greasy!!! How annoying!

How interesting that it makes such a big difference. There is a reason for everything!
