Hi I would love some help. I'm going to pay for a hormone test as my doctor won't give me one. I'm curious as to what hormones I need testing. I'm a little clueless. Im pretty sure I have female pattern hairloss. What are the main ones that will give me answers?
Why won't your doctor give you one? What type of doctor did you go to? You should see an endocrinologist who can test your hormones, testosterone, thyroid, etc.
Free and Total Testosterone, Androstendione, DHT, A thyroid panel (T3, T4, TSH, Reverse T3, thyroid antibodies), Ferritin (stored iron), Vitamin D...those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head. High androgens, a thyroid problem, low iron and low vitamin D are some of the most common causes of hair loss. It's a good place to start.
