That is very cool! I got a brochure for her wigs a couple of months ago and was thrilled at the idea of a wig you can swim in. It still doesn't solve the eyebrow/eyelash problem but it's a definite step forward for wig wearers!

    Hi Girls, :)

When I was at the NAAF conference at the end of June Amy's Presence was one of the vendors who had a booth set up.

A couple of my friends had consultations. My friend Heaventree is also a member here and actually did a vendor review of all the booths at the conference and posted it awhile ago. Here it is again:

    Joseph Paris Naturally:

Can't say I loved this guy or his product while I was trying to get a straight answer he told me to just be quiet and listen to him. Talked down to me, many found him a bit insulting. He was selling a really poor quality hair piece for about $1200.00, his pieces normally run in the $3,000 price range I believe. I do think he is trying to help those who suffer from Alopecia Areata but he really could work on his professionalism. He did give one young women a free hair piece in exchange for her allowing him to photograph her wearing one of pieces so not completely a bad guy just a little rough around the edges.

At first glance I didn't love this product either. When feeling the inside of the cap with my hands it felt rough to the touch, however once I tried it on my head it was very comfortable. I tired on the swim wig and the hair feels like human hair, the cap was very comfortable. The person there representing the wigs really could have done a better job selling the product, she was distracted and not really all that helpful. I did get a chance to meet Amy, she was wearing a very long dark wig and looked stunning, nice lady.

There was another vendor there representing Amy's Presence her company is called Lucinda's's Hair and she is in CT. She was quite helpful and helped me find a cap size to fit properly. She also carried other types of wigs. If I lived in the CT area I would consider visiting her shop:

Halo Thin Skin & Front Lace Hair Systems:

Two very nice ladies, the women you see on the website was at the conference. She looked completely natural, would not know she was wearing a hair piece. Their pieces are Indian Remy Hair and run about $900.00. Looks like they had a comfy yet sturdy cap. Not entirely convinced of the hair quality but might be worth looking into. Apparently they buy their pieces from Canada, however they seemed to know very little about them when I asked if they were made in China (which they probably are) they had no idea.

    Freedom Hair Vacuum Wigs

    http://www.freedomwigs.co.nz/

These ladies were buy far the best vendor at the conference, they spent an hour just talking with me and letting me try on their wigs! We were all in the restroom exchanging wigs. Go to the main site and then the contact page, click on the link to each page and look at these ladies. They all a looked beautiful and completely natural, really. I would have never know they were wearing wigs.

These wigs are not for everyone, they are very expensive $3,000 plus, however are said to last anywhere from 2-5 years. The down side, I don't love the hair line if the hair is pulled off the face they look very unnatural, my concern is the wind blowing up my bangs. The really big debate about these wigs is the cap and how hot it is, the verdict for me is still out. The ladies I spoke to swear they are no hotter than any other wig and they love them. All of them suffer from AT or Alopecia Universalis which you have to be in order to wear a vacuum piece. They do however look much easier to care for than a lace piece. Much more durable and longer lasting for sure. This is something I'm really going to seriously consider especially for the winter months.

Looks like a wonderful company that stands behind their product, great representatives and good quality products. I think if you are looking for a vacuum wig they are the way to go.

Another friend of mine who is a manager on the AASC explained a little bit more about Heaventrees concern about the hairline of Freedom wigs. Her daughter wears one and the manager is a representative for Freedom Wigs. Here is what she said:

"Just want to pass comment about the worry with the unnatural hairline of Freedom Wigs. This is the type of wig my daughter wears and they are designed in a way that the hair does not flick back in the wind, but parts and moves to the sides. They have a little more weight at the temples and special underhair that ensures that the bang area is always well disguised."

Hope all this info helps for those of you considering cosmetic options. Take care. Hugs Joann

Wow, Thanks Joann for all the info.
Not to the wig stage yet but not far away.
I actually live in MA and work in CT, so I can go to Lucindas maybe when I need one.
    Thanks again.
