I recently went for a consultation with Dr. Paul Rose regarding a hair transplant. During our discussion, I said I was taking Pravachol for cholesterol and he mentioned that statins have been said to cause hair loss. I've been taking the medicine for about 5 to 7 years now and within the past year have noticed that my hair is getting EXTREMELY thin on top and front. I think it may have been happening all along and I am just finally noticing it because of the amount that I've finally lost. Does anyone know anything about the effect of statins on hair?
