Here's a study from 2014 showing promising results with pumpkin seed oil twice daily orally. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4017725/ There is a bit of controversy around this study because apparently other herbs were also given with the pumpkin seed oil, unfortunately. I think it's so interesting that we never hear about these more natural treatments. This study even mentions that saw palmetto has been found to be more effective than finasteride for mild Androgenetic Alopecia in men. But you don't hear much about that, very likely because Big Pharma doesn't make money on saw palmetto. All this is to say......read, read and read some more. Topical ketoconazole may be as effective as minoxidil. And no headache side effect or facial hair growth. This has been studied in women. Pumpkin seed oil not studied in women, but seems like it would be safe enough to try. Maybe most of these are helpful for those who are just now noticing thinning. Trying to keep our hair is easier than growing hair.
Well, there are single and not extensive studies on a few oils. But realistically, they cant treat your hair loss and will be messy to use for sure.
