I was wondering if anyone here has had any luck with the new findings about alopecia areata and gut bacteria, leaky gut. What type of tests and treatments are there? I understand they have given Alopecia Areata to mice and cured it with wiping out the microbiome. They have restored hair growth in totalis individuals by using a fecal transplants. My first case (moderate) Alopecia Areata spontaneously healed ten years ago after a few months with derm shots. It resurfaced this past month with spots and starting to lose my hairline again. There is also diffuse hair loss on one side. I’ve started the shots at the derm, probiotics and Restore (restore4life). I have some regrowth in the spots, but still “rubber skin” along the hair line. I’m thinking this was all triggered with life events, and heavy antibiotics for staph infection. How does one find out what the gut bacteria is and if it needs to be treated with antibiotics? Thank you.
