I suspect I have PCOS...and I have to get my blood tested... I have read how some test are better to do around your period. Should I wait to have my period?

And will a blood test confirm PCOS or not?

Your doctor would know better about when to check your hormones. I think they can check at any time though.

If your androgens are high, then that indicates PCOS. If your testosterone and DHEA levels are high, then that will show up in your blood test for PCOS. They're supposed to check your insulin too. What are your symptoms?

My endo said you should get your testosterone checked in the early a.m. and when you're on your period. She said testosterone is highest in the morning and that way you can get a good reading.

Do you have excess hair? Thats a pretty good indicator of PCOS and/or high testosterone.
